A Taste of Freedom

When it comes to tablescaping, I am passionate about keeping things minimal and creating beauty through intentional simplicity.

Vintage elements paired with modern neutrals and simple candles helps create depth and contrast without going over the top. I tend to stick to one colour palette while using a variety of different textures and elements to create layers and complexity that makes for interesting visual stories.

I love these home-made Pesach cards we turned into a Haggadah bookmark with the simple addition of a ribbon.

Tips:

1. When creating a tablescape I like to start with a neutral background. A good white, cream, or beige linen cloth is a perfect background.

2. I always add florals first and then go onto the candlesticks. In order to maintain the simplicity try not to go overboard with colors – you want to keep it co-ordinated and minimal so it doesn’t become overwhelming. Choose a basic palette and stick to it.

3. To keep the look soft and soothing match your napkin to your colour scheme. A textured napkin will add more depth here.

4. adding a ribbon adds a soft feminine and chic touch - tie it around your napkin, or place card, or menu card, and let it fall naturally over the plate.

5. To accessorize easily, you should always have a nice set of vases and candle holders. Keep a variety of textures such as wood, ceramic and stone, and if they are neutral they will always match your colour scheme.
