Summer Entertaining

There is something special about the changing of seasons, the hot summer days spent in the heat, by the pool, and the long Fridays cooking away in anticipation for the excess amount of entertainment that happens over the weekend. Local stores and farmers markets are bursting with seasonal produce marked in every shape and color of the rainbow. The adventures of shopping with my husband, hunting down the best and freshest ingredients - is the best thing about summer cooking. You are already halfway there when you start with quality produce. The kitchen becomes a more enjoyable and fluid space when it’s less about technique and following recipes, then it is about spontaneity and letting the produce pave the way. I take the same approach to food as I do to styling, things are better served simple - fresh herbs, some zested citrus and a quality flaky salt is all that’s needed to send your palette right into summer.
